Progress sometimes means that we have to ......

As we approach the upcoming elections, there's a palpable sense of pause in the air, accompanied by reflection and hope for the future.

Recently, I stumbled upon a profound quote by C.S. Lewis that resonated deeply with me: "We all want progress. But progress means getting nearer to the place where you want to be. And if you have taken a wrong turning then to go forward does not get you any nearer. If you are on the wrong road progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road and in that case the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive man. There is nothing progressive about being pig-headed and refusing to admit a mistake.... Going back is the quickest way on."

Lewis's words struck a chord, prompting me to reflect on the path we're currently on. Are we heading in the right direction, or have we veered off course? Perhaps it's time for collective introspection and action.

The pivotal year of 1994 marked a significant change for South Africa, steering us onto a path of progress. However, as we stand on the brink of another election, it's evident that we're once again at a crossroads, craving further advancement.

Genuine progress isn't merely moving forward blindly; it's about recognizing when we're on the wrong path and having the courage to backtrack and correct our course. This is where the power of the people comes into play.

On May 29th, 2024, let us exercise our right to vote, not just as a civic duty, but as a collective step towards meaningful progress. The outcome of this election will shape our future, and it's imperative that we actively participate in shaping it.

While we await the outcome, it may feel as though life is on hold, decisions pending. However, let us not dwell solely in anticipation. Instead, let us live in hope, preparing ourselves for life beyond the elections.

This entails devising actionable plans and strategies, fueled by the belief that positive change is within our grasp. Together, let us inspire hope and pave the way for a brighter tomorrow.

At Real and Proper T, we are optimistic about the outcome of the election and we aim to inspire each and every one of our clients to share this sentiment. We will win, we will conquer, and we will have a bright future here in South Africa.

Prepare yourself for the good that is about to follow in June 2024. May the floodgates open upon us and bring us all the riches we deserve. May we sell all those properties that have been waiting for new owners.

We are here for you all the way and can see a positive future for all our South Coast customers.
